Keeping On The Nintendo/Gaming Theme: Nintendo Game System Release Timeline

Where Did The Love Go For Nintendo?

It's been a turbulent time for Nintendo, the console and game developer that went to war with Sega in the 80s and 90s and can really be said that it was the first real console war, Sonic vs Mario, who really won?

Clearly it was Mario in that battle, but now there is a new battleground which Nintendo cannot win, Microsoft vs Sony.

The problems Nintendo has with it's market share is that it's games are not ultra realistic like the new generation of consoles, the games are imaginative but haven't really changed much in their style, the Wii U has been a flop, Nintendo handheld consoles not really doing much better.

I remember a time when i travelled i would see people with a DS Lite around their neck, now not so much. I have a 3DS and i hate to say this, i traded in my Xbox 360 for the 3DS, although with all my Xbox games i did get the brand new 3DS for free and had to pay £20 extra for Animal Crossing New Leaf. However i'm getting slightly bored of the 3DS, Animal Crossing New Leaf is a good game, but it does get boring very quickly.

The games Nintendo makes are really for the novelty factor and the 3DS really only appeals to females, most of the games are cutesy things that don't have much substance.

Nintendo needs to change the style of game it makes, it needs to reform it's app store within the console's, especially on the 3DS to have some free items.

Nintendo is great for the parent that is conscious of violence and swearing that is available on the other consoles, but the games appeal to younger children and that is about it.

Nintendo aren't just competing with Sony & Microsoft, they have to compete with Mobile devices.

I don't think it will be long until we see the demise of Nintendo, the same way Sega went and maybe just become a game developer and publisher.

The Real Breaking News On Fox News

It started way back sometime pre-2005 for me, but my viewing of Fox News or the Fox News Channel has been a turbulent one, but i have somehow found myself switching back to it, not for the news, but simply for a show called "The Five."

Airing at 5pm EST, The Five is somewhat a show where 4 perceived to be Conservatives batter a lonely Democrat in braces with abuse, threats, the kitchen sink if they could. It's fun and entertaining, but not really family viewing and the tagline of Fox News becomes somewhat dubious, "Fair & Balanced", in other words and similar to the mantra of the Socialist in the UK, "Do as we say or F**K Off!"

Back to my post title, the real breaking news for Fox News is that there is No breaking news, switch the channel on for yourself, it's 5 minutes of content, 20 minutes of adverts and useless tat by way of Fox News Extra, which can only be described as stuff you don't need to know, but we're going to tell you anyway.

Even funnier was the advert for Fox News in Venezuela, it was a American chap speaking English referring viewers to the Fox News Latino website, suppose some of the viewers in Venezuela don't speak a word of English. I'm sort of dubious to the airing of Fox News in Venezuela anyway knowing the political makeup of the country, i would have thought the channel would have been banned.

Later on you get a evening of more adverts and useless tat by way of Fox News Extra, we get to more opinion shows, the master of the "No Spin Zone" Bill O'Reilly, a entertaining man, but the show is quite lackluster now.

To sum up, Fox News "Fair & Balanced", not if you're a Fat Democrat who wears Braces!
