More Pics From Boat Lift

Boat Lift, Monday 22nd July 2013

At some point it was inevitable, a boat lift would be needed, a weird noise coming from the engine and initial thoughts are the cutlass bearing has gone on the boat, but not to be the case.
The boat was lifted out and aroud the prop shaft was fishing line, remembering when this happened was easy.
Last Summer whilst out on the Humber, we had encountered a gent fishing off the Marina near the Locke, too close to the locke and we snagged his line nearly pulling the chap of the locke wall, but you would think in broad daylight he would have seen us and brought his line in, i guess he missed the lesson on when fishing where you're not supposed to and looking out for yachts with large masts.
Anyway, the lift went well. Just need the boat back in the Marina so we can sail it, especially with this nice weather we're having.

1st June 2013 Sailing, River Humber

Sailing on Saturday was eagerly anticipated, it didn't disappoint me, but the weather was supposed to be warm and sunny throughout the day, however during the day it was cloudy and at some points i was wondering if we were going to experience rain.

The river though was very flat and calm and a light breeze swept across the river, as we headed out of the lock we headed towards the Ferry Terminal and then back up the river towards the Humber bridge.

It had been a long time since i was able to have lunch whilst sailing and during the afternoon the sun pocked through the clouds, it wasn't until the evening that the weather really picked up and the sun was out in all it's glory, by that time though we had arrived back in the Marina in Hull.

A good sailing trip and although i'm not a fan of the P1 Powerboats, we did see them racing around their course in front of St. Andrews Quay.

A Day Without Sugar

My kettle packed in last night, too late to go out and purchase a new one and i was stumped.

The kettle in my kitchen has provided 100s of cups of tea and coffee and i didn't realise this piece of equipment played a huge role in my daily life.

So without a kettle, microwaving a cup of tea was a option, tried it and would never do it again. The tea was horrible, so i switched to water.

i don't mind drinking water, but it's a little tasteless for me, it's the effects of not drinking tea and coffee that is having a effect on me and is making me wonder why my sleeping patterns are so irregular.

i usually have sugar in my hot drinks, 2 in tea and coffee with milk and 3 teaspoon full of sugar in black coffee. Last night i felt more tired than usual, this morning was a little bit different, i woke up at 5:30am and wrote a bit on my Facebook Page, then gradually started to fall asleep around 6am.

Falling back to sleep and when i woke up, i felt more refreshed than usual. Usually i wake up half tired and not ready for the day. But this morning i was more alert and ready for the day. So far i've been more productive and more focused than say a couple of days ago, where i would have had a cup of tea around 10pm, then my morning cup would have been around 6am.

I know its not just the sugar that plays a huge role, other ingredients in tea and coffee play a bigger role, but i haven't eaten anything that contains high sugar content.

i do feel better, so i shall try and keep my sugar intake as low as possible.
